What We Offer

  Recording and Production

Whether you're looking for a producer to collaborate with on your full-length project, or just looking for a vibe-y place to make a quality recording of a song, we can assist you in every step from co-writing to mastering. In our intimate studio, we specialize in working with small groups, singer-songwriters and instrumentalists. Our palate of sound ranges from clean and deliberate, to bombastic and gritty and we take care to capture your music as authentically and creatively as possible. We have industry-standard instruments and microphones, and also a collection of vintage and classic gear with loads of character. Producer and studio-owner Andy Stack is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and singer and can be your one-stop guy to round out your project. He also has a relationship with a long list of regional musicians and singers who can contribute to your project. See our gear list and listen to some examples on our sounds page.

   Editing and Mixing

Your record has been tracked at another studio and you're looking to do some editing and mixing with an engineer in a smaller room or with a smaller budget? You'll be in good hands here. Our engineers can edit efficiently and precisely, and we take the art of mixing seriously. We know that it sometimes takes time to get the right mix and we are invested in making you happy with the final results. We can also master your project on a budget using our Lurssen Mastering Console software.

  Inspiring Atmosphere

We've created an earthy and energetically inspiring setting that's conducive to making soulful music. Our studio has been set up with care to make you feel at home. It's quiet, cozy and clean, and can be lit as you feel, dim with some candles and the suspended Edison bulbs faded down, or bright with natural sunlight. Our doors are open to you around the clock, so you can work as late or as early as you like. Buffalo Stack Productions is located in the Old Beacon High School which has been converted into a studio space and is home to other artists, creative professionals, educators and non-profit organizations. We are among like-minded people here, and late at night when the building is mostly empty, we have been known to make use of the hallway to get experimental with sounds.

  Art Direction

You have your songs and a new album recorded, but are you looking for ideas to visually represent your music? We can work with you to design your album artwork, posters, and websites that look the way your music sounds. We can also take photos and video to capture moments in the studio.

  Project Guidance

Is this your first recording project? Have you made records before but you're new to the world of crowd-funding and online record release and digital distribution? Whether you're new to the game, or an old-hat, we can consult with you on the best way to complete your record and get it out to the world. We're here to lend an ear and help you stay on task and be efficient with your valuable time and energy. We have a wealth of experience and a wide base of musicians and business people we can network with on your behalf.

Meet Andy Stack

Andy Stack is the founder of Buffalo Stack Productions. A graduate of SUNY Purchase (Jazz Studies & Performance), Andy spent the 13 years following his graduation as a multi-instrumentalist & session musician in New York City (aka- school of hard knocks).

Andy’s love of roots American music, Jazz, Folk, Ragtime, Blues, RnB, Rock n Roll, has led to his accumulation of a vast song repertoire and musical vocabulary. A masterful acoustic and electric guitarist as well as a singer, drummer, bass player (electric and upright), and keyboardist, Andy has a deep understanding of harmony and can arrange strings and horns in almost any style. As an engineer, Andy has sought private tutoring from Grammy Winning engineers Jeff Jones and Bob Power, as well as a mentorship with Joe Johnson, who is also on staff at BSP. His passion for all things musical has led to a beautiful collection of classic vintage instruments, recording gear, and microphones that make the studio stand out from any comparable studios in the region. Andy has toured and/or recorded with NY Ska-Jazz Ensemble, Jonah Smith, Duncan Sheik, Gabriel Kahane, Les Nubians, The Harlem Boys Choir, Lucius, and countless others.
